Balconies in Berlin
Berlin is full of architectural wonders, but the most typical building facade is the Plattenbau (pre-fabricated). It make for a very distinctive profile in the city streets. Some just look grim and awful, but others (when kept up and painted) are really charming. What I enjoy most are all the balconies looking out over the streets below. The balconies are often as green as the city parks and squares, supporting aerial gardens full of potted plants.

Hello Sis,
It has been a while since i checked your blog, and man oh man have there been alot of posts! I have enjoyed your balcony 'series', and also your fountain pictures, which helped paint a more vivid picture in my mind as i read your earlier post about the fountains that you forgot your camera for. You must have a better memory than me, or pay more attention to things, because i could never describe pictures in as much detail as you seem to be able to do!
On another note, yes i have finished harry potter 7, I actually read it a few weeks ago, before the family vacation. Dad finished it over vaca, and i think Laura is reading it now, or maybe she is done. so email me about it sometime!
later,
dave
hmm... i think the capacity for visual detail is due to my field of study; at least it is a highly-developed skill as a result!
art history is 50% formal description.
let's do talk about harry potter 7; i'll email and we can knock-down, drag-out discuss in another week or so when i'm home =)
cheers, K
